Leadership Vistas has trained 150 pastors and church leaders in Kenya over the past 3 years, and we are primarily serving the Western regions of the country. Kenya is famous for the Masai Mara safaris and its long-distance runners.
Kenya is a key area of Africa because of its stability, but on account of widespread corruption it is plagued by international terrorists and drug traffickers. As for the church, it struggles with legalism, materialism, and personality cults. Although more than 80% claim to believe in Christianity, church attendance is less than 10%. Church leaders need training, as there are neither resources nor programs currently available to train many of them.
Kenya needs prayer as the national elections approach on March 4th, 2013. There was great violence during the last elections in 2007, when close to 1,000 people died and leaders in that conflict are still on trial.
